1935 - 2020
Oblin, Maurice Charles - With heavy hearts the family announce the sudden death of Maurice Oblin of North Cobalt at the age of 85 years. He passed away peacefully at Temiskaming Hospital, Monday, June 29, 2020 with his family at his side.
Born March 4, 1935 at Cobalt to the late Paul-Emile Oblin and the late Bernadette Beaudin. Maurice had worked at Sherman in the Lab until his retirement. Following his retirement, he loved to work on his 1935 Ford, tend to his vegetable garden, putter around in the garage, complete his daily crossword puzzle and spend time with family.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Pat [nee Fox] whom he married 63 years ago on July 6, 1957. Loving father to Sharon Gignac [Michael] of Cambridge, Carol Breault [John] of New Liskeard and Stephen Oblin [Joanne] of Tottenham. Fondly remembered by grandchildren: Chantal Bradley [Josh], Danny MacIsaac, Ryan Breault [Amanda], Trevor Breault [Jessica], Nicole Oblin and Bryan Oblin; great-grandchildren: Maëlle, Elyse, Aiden and Kaylee. Also left to mourn are his siblings: Paul [late Shirley] Oblin, Rita Poppleton [late Jerry McAndrew], Jeannette Audette [Raymond], Roger Oblin [Réjeanne] and George Oblin [Caroline].
Cremation will take place at Lakeview Crematorium - Haileybury. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
