Obituary for Gerald "Gerry" Baker
Baker, Gerald Douglas - Gerry passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital on Sunday May 10, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
Born in Ottawa on August 15, 1931, Gerry lived most of his live in Haileybury and was employed by the former Town of Haileybury as a mechanic. He loved fishing, listening to Blue Grass music as well as tinkering with old cars. He and his wife Elsie traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States. Gerry will also be remembered as a quiet and gentle man always putting the needs of others before his own.
Predeceased by his parents, Gerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Elsie [nee Glassford] his son Steve and his wife Lise Latour Baker, his in-laws William and his wife Elaine Glassford, Bob and his wife Linda Glassford, Lucy (late Randy) Robertson, Carl (late Mary) Burk and Peter Glassford. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place at Lakeview crematorium, Haileybury. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
