Obituary for Valerie Ann Watchorn (Nelson)
On Saturday April 25th, 2020 Val's journey here in the physical world ended in her 75th year. Val leaves behind her husband of 56 years Norman Watchorn and her children Wayne (Shirley Belanger), Brian, Jo-Anne (Trevor Desrosiers) and her beloved fur baby JiJi. Her devotion to her grandchildren Shaye, Shelbeigh Hannah and Ethan will be missed immensely.
Val was predeceased by her parents Arnold and Marietta Nelson and her sister Marilyn Nelson. She is survived by her sister Nancy (Ron Dalton), as well as brothers and sisters in-laws of the Watchorn and Godmaire families and many nieces and nephews.
Val was proud to be a life long resident of Haileybury who will be remembered for her passion to work, quick wit and friendly banter. A true Northerner Val enjoyed spending her winters snowmobiling and watching hockey, and in the summer camping and travelling to country music festivals brought her great delight.
Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. Following Valerie's wishes there will be no visitation or service. A family memorial will be held at a later date once the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic has ended. Arrangements entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Haileybury, 705-672-3122.
