Obituary for Darl Pitt

Darl Pitt
Pitt, Wilfred Darl - W. Darl Pitt was born on January 13, 1955 and passed on September 6, 2019. Darl was born in Nippissing Junction, Ontario. He fondly remembered trapping and snaring with his brother and the warmth of the wood stove at home on Birches Road.

Darl took on various vocations from a potato farm to a steel mill and logging before settling into a lengthy career with ALCAN Aluminum in Kitimat BC. Darl moved his young family from Hamilton Ontario to BC in the fall of 1980 and he along with his wife raised their children in the picturesque Kitimat Valley.
Darl loved spending time on his boat on the ocean and many lakes with his family and best friend Ken Stirling.

After retiring from Alcan, Darl moved to Haileybury, Ontario to be closer to his sister Wendy and family in North Bay and his mother-in-law in Cobalt. He spent six years cultivating his garden, fishing in many lakes and discovering many walking trails with his dogs Bruce and Molly.

Darl will be remembered for his laughter, straight-forward sense of right and wrong as well as for the love of his country, his beloved Saskatchewan Rough Riders, his family (including the furry ones) music and everything outdoors. Darl was an excellent musician who wrote dozens of songs and loved to play his guitar (Harry) along with the ukulele, and recently learned mandolin. He had recorded much of his music along side his wife and children.

On Friday September 6th Darl passed onto the next life surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and sister. Darl is survived by his wife Kathryn Lynn, his daughter Kellyann (Adam) Martin, his sister Wendy (Brian) Pinkerton, sister Val (Alan) Garrett, his brother Lyle (Yvonne .d.). Darl was predeceased by his son Chet Dale Pitt, his mother Mary, father W. Toner Pitt, his sisters Joyce (Bob) Denault, Merle (Elmer) Foster, Sheila (Jerry) LaCarte and brother Larry Pitt. Darl will be fondly remembered by numerous and much loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
When asked by his daughter about when he got to heaven and God asked him what his favorite thing was he said,“Thanks for all the fish!”

In keeping with Darl's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences and contributions may be left at
