Obituary for Rodney Russell Button
Button, Rodney Russell - With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Mr Rodney Russell Button at the age of 77 years. Rodney passed away at Temiskaming Hospital on Saturday, October 14, 2017 following a long illness.
Rodney was born July 12, 1940 in Haileybury and grew up on the West Road. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing especially at Mowatt Landing. Rodney also had a passion for cutting wood. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He will be sadly missed.
Predeceased by his parents Russell and Viola Button; his loving wife Claire [Murray] and his siblings: Garfield, Shirley and Evelyn. Rodney was also predeceased by his faithful companion Toby. Sadly missed by his daughters: Kathy Button of New Liskeard and Charlene [Bill] Nabb of Kirkland Lake. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Riley, Emma and Veronica; great-grandchildren: Tyson and Teagan; special friends: Cathy Tesky and her son Liam and Debbie Armstrong.
The family wishes to thank Dr Sears and the nursing staff of Temiskaming Hospital for the wonderful care Rodney received during his illness.
The Button family will welcome friends at Branch 44 Royal Canadian Legion in Cobalt on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm for a celebration of life and memorial gathering.
