Obituary for Serge Ethier
Ethier, Serge - It is with broken hearts that the family announces the unexpected death of Serge Ethier at the age of 46 years. Serge died on Wednesday May 31, 2017 in Regina Saskatchewan.
Serge was born in Haileybury and raised in North Cobalt. He was a graduate of Algonquin College/La Cité Collégiale as a forestry technician. He began his career with the Temagami MNR, he then moved to Sioux Lookout Ontario, where he continued to fight forest fires for the Ministry. For the last 22 years, Serge was a dedicated employee of Boart Longyear. He worked in various parts of Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta as a Diamond Driller, performing surface and mostly underground drilling.
Serge was a very proud family man and he loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling and entertaining as a chef of elaborate meals and cookouts.
When you met Serge, he made a lasting impression as he had a special way to connect with people and make them feel like they were the most important person in that moment at that time. Family and friends meant the world to him.
Serge is survived by his beloved wife Carla Ethier, their daughter Emma and son Alexandre. He will be sadly missed by his parents Lise and Maurice, his brothers, Luc (Josee), identical twin Patrick, Martin (Coleen), his in-laws, Estelle and Daniel Grajczyk and brother in law Christopher (Katrina). He also leaves behind his nephews and nieces,Justin, Zachary ,Noah, Jacob, Maria, Ethan, Antoine Ethier , Annabelle and Benjamin Grajczyk. He will be lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends.
The family of the late Serge Ethier will receive family and friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Haileybury on Saturday June 10, 2017 beginning at 10:00am. The memorial mass will follow in the church at 11:00am. Father Alexis O'Lenga officiating. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
