Obituary for Beatrice Rose Delima Desrosiers Vannier (Desrosiers)
Beatrice Desrosiers Vannier
June 27, 1926 – May 26, 2017
Desrosiers Vannier, Beatrice Rose Delima – It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of Beatrice, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, at St Mary’s Hospital in Montréal.
Beatrice was born in Dymond Township and was the eldest child of the late Gaudiose and Florence (Leroux) Desrosiers also of Dymond Township/New Liskeard.
Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Jean-Claude Vannier of Sturgeon Falls Ontario (July 1926 – August 1969). They were married on October 12, 1946 in Haileybury and had six loving children: Claire (1947 – 1987) (Anthony Saini), Jacques (Patricia Pope), Françoise, Jean-Paul (Jean Allman), Marc (Leeann Latour) and Claudette (1958 – 2015) (Lawrence Ridley).
Beatrice had a special bond with her 14 grandchildren. For her, each one was special and she always had time to deal with them in a distinctive individual manner taking account their specific needs. She taught them how to bake, sew, knit, cook, and most importantly, to be patient and loving. Christine, Michael, Marc, Jean-Jacques, Tristan, Shawn, Selina, Martin, Tanya, Sarah, Katherine, Nicholas, Jean-Marc and Stephanie will truly miss their Memere.
Beatrice was very proud to be a great-grandmother (or Gran Memere) nine times: Patrick, Leah, Liam, Nicola, Emmeline, Shayla, Luca, Aidan and Leo may never know the full love of their great-grandmother but hopefully her values will be instilled in them through their parents.
Beatrice is survived by six loving sisters and one brother. Claire, Theresa, Laura, Simone, Frances, Louise and Roger. She was predeceased by Fred, Paul, Clifford Alice and Lawrence.
To summarize Beatrice in one simple phrase would be: “turn the page – tourne la page”. Move on, life has much to offer despite the difficulties that you might encounter. She has left this world a better place for her having lived in it. Beatrice, may you rest in peace and find everlasting joy.
